I had a funny thought today. It is October 26th and that was my due date for little Daniel. It is so weird to think that I could still be pregnant with him and yet he has been here for nine days. It is funny how once you add a new baby to the family it feels like they have always been there.
This past week has been interesting with two boys now instead of one. We have had a few interesting mornings and many messes. Garrett just goes ninety miles an hour all of the time. Last Tuesday I was trying to get both of them ready because Daniel had a doctors appointment and Garrett was sitting next to me on the bed holding my mug with water in it and next thing I know my butt and bed are soaking wet. Garrett had spilled the water everywhere and the only pair of pants that fit me were all wet, so I take them off and I use the blow dryer to dry them (Chad came home for a second at this point and thought I was crazy, imagine coming home and your wife is in the bathroom sitting there blow drying her pants). After I get my pants dry and go and start changing Daniel's diaper, just as I take his diaper off we get projectile poop that flys and gets on my pants (the only pants that fit, I remind you) so then I have to clean them up again. Lets just say it was a crazy morning.
I am sure that there will be many more to come but we will manage and will try to enjoy every minute of it!

October 17th, 2008! What a great day!
As many of you know our newest little addition joined our family on October 17th, 2008 at 2:49 am. We named him Daniel Monte King and he weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. We are just so excited the he is here.
Now here is the story. Nicole started to have some pretty intense contraction around 4:30 pm on Thursday and we finally decided to go to the hospital around 7:00 pm (thank you so much to Erin Ellsworth for watching Garrett the first night). They got her in and set up on the monitors to see if it was true labor and if she could stay. Once we knew we were staying Nicole got her epidural (thank you so much for modern medicine) After getting that we were all able to get some sleep before the real work would come. When we got to the hospital Nicole was dialted to a 4 and by 2 in the morning she was a 10 and ready to push. She pushed for about 10 minutes and out he came. He is perfect and we just love him so much.
Garrett came the next day to see his new brother and at first he wasn't sure what to think but after a few minutes he warmed right up to him and now gives Daniel hugs and kisses and calls him 'baby'
Daniel is such a calm and quiet little guy and we just love him.

Nicole is making me write six strange quirks that I have.
1) I automatically add up all of the hymn numbers at Church every Sunday.
2) Whenever I go up or down stairs, I check to see if there is an odd or even number.
3) I usually drink my water with with at least 15% straight lemon juice. Unless I'm going excercising afterwards, because lemon juice and excercising don't mix.
4) I can usually listen to a CD about 20 times in a row before I get sick of it. This usually bothers Nicole when we're on a road trip and I try and listen to the same CD over and over again.
5) Late at night or early in the morning, I count the number of letters I say when I say a sentence.
6) If I'm dared, I'll eat about anything including dog, cooked bugs, a chicken egg right before it hatches, live octopus, a whole tube of wasabi, a bullion cube and a mixture of ketchup, mustard and vinegar.

Sorry
So I know that all of my blogs lately have been about this baby and getting impatient for him to come, but hey when you are nine months pregnant there is little else on your mind.
I am now 37 WEEKS!!! Can you believe it? Although I have three weeks left I want the baby to come now. Having a false alarm makes the last few weeks unbearable. Everyday feels like forever and I am so ready to be done! Oh well I guess the baby will come when he is ready to come.

Update on #2
Well I went to the doctor yesterday and they said that I was looking good and that the baby seemed to be doing just fine. They didn't check me because that can often cause labor or break your water. They did take me off total and complete bed rest though. I can get up and move around but I still need to take it pretty easy and not lift anything, including Garrett. They said just to go with how I am feeling, if I am up and moving around and start to feel contractions and such that I just need to lay down for a bit. After Sunday they will be much less worried about the baby coming as I will be 37 weeks and that is much healthier for the baby. So we are just taking life one day at a time and getting really excited to see our new little one!
Thank you all for your support and comments just knowing I have such great friends is comforting. If I need any help I will let you all know.
